Billy Ray Cyrus Says Family Was Attacked by Satan

If this is Satan’s work, then I’m not all that impressed.  So Satan made a teenage girl, behave like a teenage girl?  The Evil One made Billy Ray’s daughter engage in underage drinking, wear inappropriate clothing, pole dance, try drugs  and have candid photos circulating on the internet– all those pedestrian events that seem to signify teenage behavior now.

When someone says Satan is attacking, I think of something out of Dante’s Inferno or a Hieronymus Bosch painting.

At the very least I think of a supernatural assault like Barbara Hershey in The Entity or some Exorcist action.  And since I haven’t seen Miley’s head spinning around or her doing the crab walk.  I think Billy Ray needs to chill out.

Did the wild success of the Hannah Montana franchise ruin his marriage and disrupt his family cohesion?  Yes. But he participated in 98 episodes and two movies and yet he kept cashing the checks on the way to making his daughter a multi-millionaire.  It seems a little late to be remorseful, but Billy Ray gives it a shot as he tells GQ:

Billy Ray: And there, driving to work each day in the City of Angels, was this sign. “A physical sign. It could have easily said ‘You will now be attacked by Satan.’ ‘Entering this industry, you are now on the highway to darkness…’”

GQ: Do you really see it in such clearly spiritual terms—that your family was under attack by Satan?

Billy Ray: “I think we are right now. No doubt. There’s no doubt about it.”

GQ: And why is that happening?

Billy Ray: “It’s the way it is. There has always been a battle between good and evil. Always will be. You think, ‘This is a chance to make family entertainment, bring families together…’ and look what it’s turned into.”

I don’t think Miley Cyrus is evil nor has she been touched by Mephistopheles. Now if we’re talking about Lindsey Lohan or Tila Tequila those women have been “touched” by a lot of things and if you come into contact with them I would suggest getting a mega dose of penicillin and a tetanus shot to be safe.
