I really must remember to write a note to myself reminding me to not watch ANY shows that are basically knock offs of The Prisoner. They are ALL shit with no real endings except for the original Prisoner because Patrick McGoohan was dreamy.

Number Six

For the better part of the summer I have been watching Persons Unknown. If you haven’t watched it but were thinking about renting it or buying it…don’t. After a summer of promises that all would be revealed, it was simply not to be. In the end, you STILL have no idea what the program is or who is really running it.

You never find out where the original town is or why these people were chosen. Did anyone really die? Why was there so much mystery with Janet’s husband? The whole point of having a show that has a finite number of episodes is to give the writers a heads up from the get go that they only have so much time to tell a story and more importantly finish it.

Of all the Prisoner type scenario shows I have seen, and there have been way too many:  The Prisoner (1967), Meadowlands, Cape Wrath, The Prisoner (2009), etc. not to mention spin-offs of the concept like Quantum Leap or Lost, with the exception of Quantum Leap I always end up pissed off for the time I have wasted. Persons Unknown is no exception.
