A teacher in Vechta, Germany with rabbit phobia is suing a 14-year-old girl over her drawing of a bunny. The teacher says she was traumatised by the drawing, and claims the girl knew it would terrify her.
The girl had transferred to the school where a pupil from her former school had just become a pupil and told her new friends about the teacher’s fear of rabbits. The offending student is being sued for the traumatic art and spreading rumors about the teacher’s phobia.
“We did it for fun and out of curiosity”, one of the girls told a court, adding, “We wanted to see if she would really freak out.” School officials removed the girl from the class and now the teacher is seeking compensation for her terror and loss of earnings.
The teacher had sued another student in 2008 in a similar case. At that time the trial ended with a settlement. That student had agreed not to talk about the bizarre phobia which caused the teacher to cry at the sight of a hare or hearing the word “rabbit”.
There are sooo many things wrong with this story.
Just how terrifying was the rabbit that the girl drew on the chalkboard? Is this girl a Rembrandt in the making? Did she start with the BIG teeth or the BIG ears? Did the girl sketch this 22 pound ball of fur?
As for the teacher, what happens around Easter? Do Easter eggs or Peeps freak her out? Was she molested by a rabbit? Did she see Donnie Darko one to many times? Does she get uncomfortable when Bugs Bunny is in drag? Would two or three minutes of Night of Lepus put her into a coma?
