In a few hundred years when our simian overloads have taken over control of the Earth, we’ll have Thailand’s Safari World to thank for setting their ancestors on a path of revenge against humanity. The Thai theme park features orangutans kickboxing, pretending to be knocked out of boxing rings, and has others dressed in bikinis trained as round card girls and bell ringers.
The apes kickbox each other for tourists in a show lasting more than 30 minutes, before being returned to their cages. It is not known how many orangutans have been captured and trained by Safari World.
Animal rights activists say the apes – weighing up to 250lbs – could do themselves serious damage in the boxing ring. They warn it is hastening the end of the orangutan, which experts claim could be extinct in the wild in several years.
