Well America, NASCAR just got a touch of class. OK, I can’t write that with a straight face. I’ll just cut to chase, Kim Kardashian has just unveiled her new car… her NASCAR car.
I guess that was on the list of how to be a celebrity:
(1) Have a somewhat famous last name- her late father was a lawyer on the O.J. Simpson defense team
(2) Make a sex tape– just like Paris Hilton, Kim made out with some loser with a video camera
(3) Get a reality TV show– thank Ryan Seacrest for thinking that we needed to Keep Up With Kardashians
(4) Put name on a personal fragrance– cause we all want to smell like you
(5) Sponsor a NASCAR driver– WTF!
And really, is Kim Kardashian that strange of a sponsor for NASCAR. Sure we’re used to alcohol related sponsorships like Miller Lite, Jack Daniels, Budweiser, and Crown Royal (which is counter-intuitive with the whole don’t drink and drive message.) But there have been weirder sponsors like Vassarette lingerie, Boudreaux’s Butt Paste, and Viagra. If it were me, I’d be much less self conscious going into the third turn at Talladega in the pink Kardashian car than one that advertises erectile dysfunction.
The car might be lucky for driver Mike Bliss during the Las Vegas Sprint Cup race on Feb. 28. The Kardashian women seem to pick winners. Kim herself is dating NFL running back Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints. Kim’s sister Khloé Kardashian is married to NBA forward Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers. And their mother Kris is married to Olympic decathlon gold medalist Bruce Jenner.
