The Lady Or The Tiger, A Study in Humiliation and Shame

Why is it that when a husband is caught in an act of infidelity, the wife is always the humiliated party? Tiger Woods has pretty much been busted for cheating on his wife, with what appears to be a slew of strikingly similar looking chicks. At first I admired his wife for allegedly going after his ass with his own golf clubs.  I probably would have done the same.

I'm with stupid. Doesn't he look great in his tux.

The media is reporting hourly how humiliated she must be, as they do when any famous or quasi-famous couple is caught up in a scandal involving cheating. Why is the innocent party, particularly if they are a woman, the one to be humiliated. You cheated on me, jackass, I’m pissed. It seems in the cases of, especially, politicians wives, they are further humiliated by having to play the whole,”stand by your man” crap.

You’ve got to LOVE Jenny Sanford for putting the kibosh on that. Good for you, Jenny Sanford!  She did not quietly play Tammy Wynette standing by the father of her children who pissed away his career to schtup some bimbo in Argentina.  Now, as for Elin, IF she went after his sorry ass with the golf clubs and that’s a BIG if, then good for her.

Now, rumors are floating around that Tiger is upping the provisions of the pre-nup to keep Elin around. So what he’s saying is, “Hey baby, I’ve know I’ve been busted er…hurt you by screwing everything that stands still long enough. But hey, if I give you some money will you stick around long enough for me not to lose all my endorsement deals? Love you.” If she sticks it out, in my mind at least, she saying I can forgive if the price is right. Then she’ll have a real reason, at least, to be humiliated.
