On location in New York City this week filming “Remember Me”, Twilight star Robert Pattinson was hit by a taxi as he tried to run away from a crowd of hysterical teenage fans. Flanked by five security guards, the British actor tried to run past the teen mob to reach the safety of his trailer across the street when the accident happened.
He was not seriously injured, but his bodyguards reportedly were furious, according to RadarOnline.com which claimed to have witnessed the accident. One of the bodyguards yelled at the girls: “You see what you did, you almost killed him!”
What’s wrong with this picture? Five bodyguards and their client still gets hit by a taxi?
Why? Because he was fleeing from crazy fans. Don’t blame the fans. Blame the overpaid and unprepared “security detail”. Its time for Robert Pattinson to fire his bodyguards. How lazy and stupid are these guys? If the client is hurt or killed– you don’t get paid. Its kind of hard to find work after losing a client.
I bet Stephen Moyer's bodyguards don't let taxis hit him.
I’ve worked in this town long enough to know that smart bodyguards create a security pocket around the client, so that they don’t get injured. They stake out all locations, determine multiple ways to escape from danger. They are not paid to panic and send the client running into oncoming traffic.
I can maybe understand one bodyguard being overwhelmed– but five!? Turn in your earpiece and dark sunglasses. Get your money back from that correspondence course you took. Go to Netflix and rent Taken, The Bodyguard, or In the Line of Fire to see how its done.
