Apparently its good to be homeless in Milan this year.   Police in Milan seized almost 90 pounds of beluga caviar with a street value of $558,300 from a group of smugglers.  The police had been keeping the sturgeons’ eggs as evidence for weeks now, but realized that it would go bad soon.  The cops figured that the, “food was still perfectly OK to eat but it couldn’t be stored much longer, so we decided to give it to the poor,”

Fr. Virginio Colmega who helps run the House of Charity in Milan, said of the police gift, “Everything that comes our way is very welcome, even though most of our guests don’t even know what those little black balls are.”  The House of Charity is planning to distribute this unexpected Christmas delicacy to homeless shelters, charity kitchens and old people’s homes.

Pardon me, would you have any Grey Poupon?
