BCS Con Job for 2008

Here are the bowl games that really matter.  Hopefully in my lifetime we’ll see a proper college playoff system.  It should disturb more people that we have walked on the Moon, sequenced all of the DNA in the human body, yet we can’t get the NCAA to agree on a rational way to see the best teams actually play each other.  We’re stuck with this antiquated mobbed up system.  Even President-elect Obama wants a playoff system.

• FedEx BCS National Championship Game: Florida vs. Oklahoma

• Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State vs. Texas

• Allstate Sugar Bowl: Utah vs. Alabama

• Rose Bowl Game Presented by Citi: Penn State vs. USC

• FedEx Orange Bowl: Cincinnati vs. Virginia Tech

We have a bunch of one loss teams on the outside looking in again: Texas and USC.  The one saving grace is that Texas will annihilate Ohio State in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.  So we can see Ohio State with another BCS bowl game loss.

Crack of my ass bowls… simply put these are the ones that any corporate sponsor can come along and slap their name on it and invite two teams to play.  It’s a bizarre marketing hodgepodge.  I’m waiting for the pharmaceutical companies to start getting involved.  Can’t you just see a game sponsored by OxyContin or Viagra?  Anyhow here are the 2008-2009 non BCS Bowl Games.
