Ok, you were kind enough to suffer through the bad stuff last week.  I’ll admit the list of good stuff is a mix of comic book inspired characters and sci-fi shows.  Here’s a short list of the stuff I enjoyed in the 1970s and early 1980s:

Wonder Woman played by Lynda Carter – Nuff said.  I’m very worried about the names being bandied about for the possible film version.  Beyonce?!  At one time Mischa Barton?!?   Less prom queen and more Boudica, please.  The latest news is that the Wonder Woman movie is on hold, but there will be a Justice League film (maybe, in 2011?!).  Rumor has it that Australian actress and model Megan Gale has been tapped to play everyone’s favorite Amazon warrior.

The Incredible Hulk – One of the best TV soundtracks with that great sorrowful piano music.  The show also had one of the greatest TV lines of all time: “Mr. McGee, don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry”.  Here’s a list someone complied of the ways Bill Bixby went all Lou Ferrigno each week.

Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman – Come on admit it.  If you were in grade school when this was on, you know you rocked the playground doing the bionic special effects and moving in slow motion.

Although Eddie Izzard nailed it with, “Why does the Bionic Woman pull her hair back to use her bionic hearing?”

Buck Rodgers – So what if the sets were interchangeable with Battlestar Galactica?  The best part of this show was the variety of characters:

  • Princess Ardala – She always seemed to running late for a show at the Flamingo.

  • Hawk – I was looking around for pictures of this guy in the feathers and leather, but couldn’t find any.  He is still working, he plays mob boss Carlo Hesser on the ABC soap, One Life To Live.
  • Twiki –He had the voice of Mel Blanc and the body of… a stubbier less elegant gun metal gray C3PO.
  • Dr. Theopolis – He looked like a talking canteen with LED lights.

And lastly…
Challenge of the Superfriends – Which features the Legion of Doom, if you’ve seen them you know what I’m talking about.
