Apparently, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s name is being bandied about for a position in the upcoming Obama Administration. Since I’ve heard this now from both NPR and the Wall Street Journal, I have to give this one some credence. Unlike the rumors that the Sean John line will design presidential formal ware and business suits or that Xzibit will be making some changes to the President’s limo and Marine One.

Coolest governor in the nation
The speculation is that Arnold would be up for the Secretary of Energy. That would put him 15th in the line of presidential succession. Granted he can’t be President– because non-natural born citizens are ineligible. In any case, Arnold has a good record on energy: pushing for cap-and-trade systems to curb emissions, driving both biodiesel and hydrogen powered Hummers, and mandating that the state have an energy portfolio that is made up 33% renewable energy sources by 2020. Although I can’t really see him packing up and going to Washington full time. He doesn’t live in Sacramento, he commutes from Los Angeles via Gulfstream jet. Which is why he needs the cap-and-trade offsets, nobody said that going green would be easy.
